The Role

At Matrix Renewables we are looking for a highly motivated individual to play a key role supporting our Development Division. Based in Madrid, the Due Diligence Analyst will be assisting the Due Diligence Manager over Matrix’s portfolio according to the global projects.

The candidate should assist the Project Development division in their day-to-day activities, assisting Due Diligence Manager in all the SPVs acquisition processes, according to different Sales and Purchase Agreements/ Contracts.

Candidate should work side by side with different departments, mainly Legal, Operations and Finance to coordinate the closing process, managing the timing needed for due diligences, Q&As, or whatever is needed to acquire the SPV. This would require a coordinating effort to manage different due diligences.

In the closing process it will be necessary to monitoring compliance with contractual obligations and assessing the quality of work done by with Matrix’s developers, assisting in the ordinary corporate and administrative obligations, liaising with external advisors, and assisting to M&A, financing and operation teams when required.

Candidate would be, as well, responsible for pushing all development teams and developers to update VDR so mentioned due diligence can be carried out. Additionally, candidate will have to take control with the internal development tracker/ reporting platform, generating development reports to the management, receiving the information from our managers.

The Candidate will also use their experience and intelligence to identify and control documents generated by our developers/managers. The candidate should be mature enough to be able to

represent Matrix’s interests with the local teams and stakeholders, being confident to proactively defend Matrix even if that position is opposed by the developer or stakeholders.

Key activities and responsibilities:

• Assist the Due Diligence Manager in their day-to-day activities, in coordination with different departments to close SPVs acquisitions.

• Interact, as well, with external advisors to carry out the due diligences.

• Ensure projects VDR are updated with relevant documentation through each project development stage.

• Lead Matrix portfolio tracker, ensuring that the information delivered by the development team is the correct one, and is up to date.

• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and assessing the quality of work done by Matrix’s developers.

• Controlling VDRs, ensuring that developers and managers respects the structure defined internally. And making new developers understand the importance to respect this structure.

• Lead & coordinate the development managers to create a periodical development report to the management.

• Propone and create new processes that will help the development division be more efficiently organized.

General Skills / Attributes:

Master’s degree in Engineering or similar.

Minimum 1-2 years of energy industry experience developing renewables projects, contract manager or project engineer.

Understanding of the development, construction, and operational processes for solar or wind projects.

Soft skills and initiative to coordinate the process with different departments.

Very Methodical to manage all information, projects, processes, etc.

An ability to perform at a high level in a matrixed organization, working in interdepartmental teams to achieve objectives.

Solid communication skills: capability to establish technical discussions in different cultural environments.

Fluent in English.
